Project Runway Recap
I know that TV this week was buzzing with the Grammys...but I must admit that no show can replace Project Runway. Especially because only 5 designers were left this week and the end is so close. aaah Project Runway, I feel like it was yesterday that we met the new designers and got to shout out again EITHER YOU ARE IN OR YOU ARE OUT!
This week's episode was packed with tension. The five designers were told that they had to give head to toe makeovers to a fellow designer. The names were picked out of the bag and here is how the chips fell:
Santino made over Kara
Kara made over Santino
Chloe made over Nick
Nick made over Daniel Vosovic
Danny V made over Chloe
Ok I know I don't have to say Daniel Vosovic's full name anymore because the other Daniel (Franco) isn't on the show anymore - but I just love it too much not to say it!
Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic!
Ok now that I got that out of my system...back to the make overs...
Tension was felt all over the work room. You can see how Santino and Nick were just ready to fight. In fact, you can tell all of the designers were against Santino. Possibly they are sick of how he just keeps on getting by on this talent that nobody really sees? Maybe his funny voices aren't cutting it anymore? His ego has gotten so big that it pushed them all out of their apartments in the Atlas? Maybe Andrae was some type of stabilizer?
It seems that each week the designers pick who they want out. Two weeks ago when Zulema got cut you can tell that after she did her "Walk Off" that the designers were ready for her to move out. Last week seemed like there was harmony amongst the designers - but now the designers have turned against Santino.
Funny enough the bottom two were Nick and Santino. We all love Nick because he has energy and talent. But you can't deny that he put Danny V in a woman's daytime suit. Nick you got a chance to show how great you are at Men's wear and you could have only done worse if you added pink lace, a fish tail to the ground and a big flower on the lapel like Carrie wore on Sex in the City.
Not to say that Santino was all that.
Who wears jumpsuits anymore? Oh wait, I was at Automatic Slims (bar in south beach) two weeks ago and a woman dancing on the pole came in with a head to toe leopard print jumpsuit (like what they wear at Mangos). (Yes there is a pole at Slims - and it is not a strip club) . It looked something like this:
Somehow that leopard print jumpsuit has a touch more class than the one I saw in person. Ok so Santino's outfit wasn't that bad. Except for the fact that the sleeve came completely apart on the runway! Oh that's really bad. And he didn't get cut!?!?! Is he dealing drugs to Michael Kors and Nina Garcia? Is that why he doesn't get cut?
Well enough about the bottom two - my heart breaks over seeing Nick go, but I bet he is over it already - considering he wanted off the show just two weeks ago!
And Chloe was the winner:
Her design was Purrrrfect (just like a leopard). And can you believe she never has done men's wear before?
Now if you all recall Danny V. won last week, which also came with a special perk of immunity this week. So he pretty much said screw it and just did the minimum work:
I don't even know what that is around her dress. I think I should introduce the made over Chloe to the leopard outfit girl and send them to the Jersey Shore.
If Danny V wasn't immune his ass would be CUT. Although, having him not in the race put Chloe on the top, which I was happy to see. It is going to be really interesting to see how the two of their collections are against each other.
And finally, Kara. With a lot of help from Santino she came up with this preppy-ish look:
Not bad girl. You have managed to get by each week. I don't know how. Kara isn't all that talented and I think she has gotten really lucky.
Now we have the final four. Next week's challenge is making an evening gown. The final 3 will all go to Olympus Fashion Week and show a full line of their own. That means that next week is HUGE.
I have heard that the final four all get to show a line at fashion week because of the timing of the show (the Project Runway Show was actually this morning). They don't want anyone to know who are in the final 3 so they force one of the final 4 designers, who knows they are the loser, to put together an entire collection. Can you imagine all the work that one designer has to put in for no reason. Well, at least they can say they did an entire collection that was shown at Olympus Fashion Week!
Final three prediction: Danny V., Chloe and Kara. Maybe Santino. Ok Santino. AHHH I HAVE NO IDEA! Ok I'm going with Santino (or Kara).

LOL "Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic! Daniel Vosovic!" I am so right there with you.
I want to be friends with Daniel V. I always think "Daniel Vosovic, we should hang out."
In other news, I think Heidi Klum is the prettiest pregnant lady ever and if I can't be pretty while pregnant like that, I don't wanna be pregnant.

Santino makes me so ill. He looks and sounds like General Zod from Superman 2 (I think it was 2) and he should have been cut ages ago. Look at the lingerie challenge - Fine, Dans was all similar looking, but so was Santinos, they were all HIDEOUS. Zulema was out for poor workmanship, Santinos sleeve falls off, but he is not cut. They cut Nick because his ambition got the best of him but not Santino because his ego got the best of him? Yes he won 2 challenges, and both dresses looked SIMILAR, don't they? Don't even get me started on the Bannana republic challenge, or the skating one. (Someone could have worn Emmetts, NO ONE could wear Santinos) They need an audience vote next season to keep this fair, because it obviously is NOT.
Santino is definetly an egomaniac (who would have guessed that he is a Leo) - and you are 100% correct that the sleeve falling off should have put his ass to the curb! I don't understand how he has made it this far, except if the Judges are overruled by the network executives who love the drama he creates. It is TV after all.
I looked at his runway collection for Olympus Fashion week - and it is a huge shock that nothing on that runway looked like something Santino would make. Everything was underdone and wearable. I wonder what changed over those 3 months.
