Heroes - Season 1, Episode 18 - Parasite

LINDERMAN!!!!!!! Finally we see his face. Now it would have been nice to find out what his deal is. We see that he owns a hotel in Vegas, likes to collect hero related art and enjoys cooking himself dinner. But why is he linked to everything in this show?

We may only find out in April. I guess Heroes is pulling a "Lost" on us and making us wait almost 2 months for new episodes. Expect the show to return on Monday, April 23rd.

We had all of the characters come back for this episode. We are left with many questions but the producers of Heroes have assured us that this season ends Chapter 1 and hopefully many issues will be resolved.

Last episode ended with Simone dying after being shot by Isaac. Peter runs out after Isaac again tries to shoot him. Peter goes to his brother, Nathan, to tell him what happened. Nathan said he would make an anonymous phone call to the police. Peter is freaked out because he blames himself for her death. He quickly disappears.

Mr. Bennett is having his own issues after his memory was erased (on purpose). Thompson, his boss, is interrogating him about Claire's whereabouts and he has no answers. Matt is secretly watching him and confirming that Mr. Bennett has no memory or knowledge of what happened.

I want to know when Matt is going to grow a pair and stop doing whatever everyone says. First he does what the police say. Then the FBI. Then his wife. Then Ted. Then Mr. Bennett. And now the "Paper Company." I mean seriously he is a hero. It seems that he is only used by the writers to move along the story - which bores me. He has a freaking cool power - they should really put it to better use.
Anyway....

After Mr. Bennett is questioned he goes back to a hotel where he sees his wife. I guess they were taken from their home after the fire and are now shacking up in a hotel room. (Did they mention where their son went?) His wife did not get her memory wiped out (she is only acting like she did) and she tells her husband that he left himself a note telling him not to go looking for Claire. A new spark is back in their relationship. Mr. Bennett then gets a phone call from Primatech sending him to NY.

Apparently NYC police are very slow. They arrived on the scene (at Isaac's loft) just a minute before Mr. Bennett was able get there from his travel from Texas to NY. Maybe Mr. Bennett is in on some secret power that allows travel through space. Who knows.

So at the Loft the police show up saying that Simone is missing. Just as they say that, Simone comes waltzing through the door fully alive. The police leave and then Mr. Bennett walks in. It is revealed that Candice (a new hero we are introduced to) can morph into any other person. She imitated Simone to fool the police. She also has a sick sense of humor.

Isaac is completely freaked out and begs for Mr. Bennett to help him. Isaac is told that Simone is going to be on an indefinite holiday in Europe and that's it. They leave and Isaac resorts to using heroine and paints pictures of himself with his head cut open and dead. That looks like the sign of Sylar to come.
So where is Claire this whole time? We see her and the Haitian going to the airport. They say something about leaving the country but Claire quickly escapes and takes the Haitian's passport with her. She goes to Peter Petrelli's home (in NY?). When she knocks on the door Peter's mom, Angela, opens the door. She introduces herself as Claire's grandmother and then we see the Haitian standing right behind her.

How does Angela know that Claire is Nathan's daughter? And how does the Haitian know Angela? And does time exist at all in this tv show? And how does Angela get into Nathan's apartment? Or does Claire go to Angela's house? How does she find Angela's house? This all is a big mystery. Maybe they should bring in Matt to tie it all together.

Somehow Mr. Bennett and Candice can move around the country in no time because before we know it Mr. Bennett is back at the hotel. He is talking to his wife hoping nobody can hear them. He says he is going to destroy Primatech. Then suddenly his wife turns into Candice and Mr. Bennett is screwed.
At the same time all of this is going on between NY and Texas, there is a story line going on in Vegas. Nathan is told by the FBI that he needs to go to Vegas because Linderman asked to have a meeting. Apparently Nathan is a "good guy" and is working with the FBI to get Linderman. Peter finds out about this during the earlier mentioned meeting where Nathan is told about Simone. There is a very grey area about campaign finance and doing in Linderman. But anyway, Nathan goes to Vegas.

In Vegas he runs into Hiro in the hotel. (How did he know Hiro would be there? Or vice versa?) Hiro has been trying to get into a secured area to get the sword. Nathan convinces the security to let Hiro in to deliver something to Linderman's curator.

Hiro meets with the curator and gives him a ripped up painting Isaac made. The curator leaves the room to get Hiro a receipt and Hiro jumps onto the computer to find the sword. He simply types in "Sword" into some search thing on the main screen and he finds it (is this the new Windows Vista?). The drawer opens up just by being called up on the screen. Hiro climbs some stairs to get it and the curator comes out to stop him. Suddenly the police show up and guess who is there to save the day - Ando! He said he figured Hiro would make an alarm go off eventually so he would disguise himself as a police officer and be ready.

Ok
this story line is just a mess too. How did he get the uniform? Did he actually become an officer? How did he know when Hiro would be there? Does he ever sleep? Where is he staying? Oh man I could come up with a hundred more questions...

So Ando and Hiro get the sword and Hiro uses his powers to transport them to another time. They go into the future and end up on the rooftop of the Deveaux Building overlooking NYC. They see the aftermath of an explosion and Hiro is very disappointed thinking he wasn't able to save the day.
Meanwhile, Nathan is set up with a wire tap under his clothes for his meeting with Linderman. Before the meeting Niki shows up and warns him to get rid of the tap. She tells Nathan that if he is going to tap Linderman then he shouldn't do it in Linderman's hotel. She tells Nathan that he is in trouble and he should kill Linderman. I guess Niki came out for some reason and was able to suppress Jessica. Don't really get that considering Niki has been hiding in mirrors since she got out of prison.

Nathan goes to meet with Linderman in a kitchen. Linderman is cooking and tells Nathan how it is pointless for Nathan to try and kill him because Nathan would be killed instantly. Linderman says he knows about Nathan's powers and names a few other heroes too. He says that Nathan will win his election and end up in the white house in a few years. Nathan puts down the gun.

While all of this is going on Sylar and Mohinder have their own battle going on. Mohinder figured out that the guy by his side this entire time is Sylar. He poisons Sylar's chai tea and straps him to a chair. Mohinder takes spinal fluid from Sylar to test him. Sylar wakes up and says he knows about Mohinder's sister and starts getting jumpy. Mohinder pulls a gun on Sylar and says something about his father's death. (That totals about 5 guns pulled this episode - I thought this show is about super powers?) Sylar stops the bullet in mid-air and uses his powers to get out of the chair.
Peter later shows up at Mohinder's apartment (I guess after leaving Nathan earlier in the episode). He finds Mohinder held up to the ceiling by Sylar's powers (why isn't Mohinder dead?). And then Sylar and Peter are face to face. Sylar says to Peter "You're like me, aren't you? I'd like to see how that works." Sylar starts to slice open Peter's head and then the episode ends.
So who is more powerful - Peter or Sylar? This is truly the ultimate match!

Ok I know I gave this episode a lot of crap for being inconsistent with a bunch of things but overall I liked the episode and I am really excited to see what happens when Peter and Sylar finally go at it. I am on Team Peter!

as far as angela goes, i think she's the "higher power in claire's life" to whom the haitian guy alluded when he explaiend to HRG why he didn't clear claire's mind. it looked like peter's apt. they were probably waiting there for her since she skipped out on the haitian at the airport.

i don't think sylar killed mohinder outright because mohinder doesn't have any superpowers to steal. from the fact that he's stapled to the ceiling with blood coming out of his mouth, i'm assuming that his death is inevitable.

where IS lyle?

you forgot the part about jessica killing the fbi agents and her husband being onto her shadiness. i'm blanking out on micah's father's name.

i don't ask too many questions b/c i figure that as a comic, it doesn't have to be completely based in reality.

i'm back and in one piece (sorta)!

HEEEY!!! Good to see you back :)

Ah yes I remember that part about DL (Niki/Jessica's husband) being onto her. Is it me or is that character hotter when she is Jesesica?

Yea I should probably not think so much into it...just can't help it!
