Geek-Inspired Wiki Of The Day
(Geek alert! Elad's GTM takeover continues!! Shawn is busy working. I shall spread my geekiness across the Internet.. at least, before her next Project Runway opus.)
Dungeons and Dragons.
D&D was such a major part of my life for years. I played with one loose group for over ten years. It was an exhilarating, inspiring, experience. We'd stay overnight at someone's house and play all night until people started collapsing and falling asleep at the table. We had individual 2-liter bottles of our favorite caffeinated soda, tons of pizza, and lots and lots of imagination.
The beauty of D&D is its diversity. Although we eventually got bored of it, during its heyday, we played on a monthly basis, trying out different thematic campaign "worlds" or completely different gameplay style. I recall one time we were trying out a new, battle-heavy, gameplay mode and spent all night planning an attack on a village but didn't get a chance to actually do the attack. Then, we went to sleep, when we awoke, the world outside was frozen and still, covered in feet of snow. We were trapped in my friend Dave's house and couldn't be happier! We continued playing for the whole day and finally went our separate ways that night.
