Open Source software

Open Source software is basically free software that is comparable and maybe even better than the software we pay for. Also the software is said to be better performance than what we pay for, and lots less bugs.

The basic idea behind open source is very simple: When programmers can read, redistribute, and modify the source code for a piece of software, the software evolves. People improve it, people adapt it, people fix bugs. And this can happen at a speed that, if one is used to the slow pace of conventional software development, seems astonishing. read more

Just do a search for open source software on the web and you'll come up with unlimited stuff.

Don't have MS Office and need to use word docs, excel spreadsheet, access databases... then dont go and spend all that money on the program, get the go to Open Office, we are using it on our 2nd computer, works perfectly, can do everything u can do in the ms software, but no power point.

I also just downloaded Blender the open source software for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback. They have a full tutorial and are even being used in the UK by production studios, i can't wait to learned!

I Love free stuff, um I mean open source, hehe
