Why Was I Forced To Play Dodge Ball Instead Of This?
If any of you have been to a video arcade in the past few years you would know of this game called Dance Dance Revolution. Usually one dude brings 50 bucks worth of quarters and spends all day hopping on arrows (and only breaks for a sip of coca cola) to dance along with the beat to get points for each time he hits the right arrow with his feet. The patterns made when hitting the arrows makes it look like the person playing the game is dancing - and sure do they sweat up a storm! And by the way now you can get this game on Play Station at home.
Schools in West Virginia have now brought these games into their schools to help kids loose weight. They are hoping that by promoting this active game, the kids with obesity problems will start building healthier habits. Also, they are hoping to prevent obesity in younger kids by having them play this game.
We used to have to play stupid games of Soccer/Dodge Ball/Ultimate Frisbee - all those things that wimpy girls can't keep up with - and I really hated them. I found every excuse to get out of gym class - including failing physical fitness tests so I would be put in a "special ed" gym with kids who had broken legs and stuff like that. But maybe I wouldn't have tried so hard to get out of gym class if there was a fun game I was into.

Oh that would have been nice, I spent most of my school years in special ed too. I hated gym class, I never understood why we had to change clothes when we never did anything anyway. Oh yeah once in a while we would lift weights or take a walk, but mostly we spent the time in the library looking up pointless info that we had to hand in.
i actually enjoyed gym class but we did cool stuff like the rock climbing wall. i actually think i'd feel more embarrassed with this thing.
