A Lawyer's Worst Nightmare
An Ohio Judge had an attorney arrested for not being prepared to go forward with a trial.
Sure he was a public defender and it was an actual trial - but he was only assigned the case one day before the trial - give him a break!

this is ridiculous. everyone knows that prosecutors and public defenders are overworked and overburdened. i totally support the pd's stand because the alternative would have been to give his client insufficient representation, which would only harm his client.
the fact that this judge has a short history of holding the pd's in contempt for not being prepared to start trial makes me wonder what this judge expects. i'm guessing he wasn't a prosecutor/pd before heading up to the bench.
