Turning the Tables
Ever get really annoying telemarketers calling you? Sometimes you play along and are nice - sometimes you hang up - but what about next time you turn the tables?
This anit-telemarketing EGBG "Counter Script" - think about it, the telemarketer uses a script, why can't you?
You start asking questions immediately - starting with "To whom am I speaking, can you spell your name for me?" - it goes on to ask about the telemarketer's home life and even if they get time off for the dentist. The script also provides you with responses just in case the telemarketer doesn't want to answer your questions.
If anyone tries this PLEASE tell me what happens - i think it would be hilarious just to hear the response.
(Thanks Boing Boing)

i don't think i could mess with tm'ers. i imagine it's a hard job for them -- pretending to be upbeat and helpful while people are in a rush to hang up on you and most likely yelling and cursing at you in the process. i'm a sucker so i end up letting them talk long enough for me to find a pause during which i can interrupt and ask sweetly to be taken off their list.
I would love to mess with them, but i would never get through this, i would laugh to hard, would be awesome to hear a recording of someone really doing this - now that's funny
