The Science of Sleep

We have all complained for awhile that movies suck lately. I know Little Miss Sunshine has been highly recommended but guess who has been too lazy so far to get to the movies (yes that is me).

But I think I have finally found a good enough reason to stop making excuses and spend that $10 bucks - The Science of Sleep.

This movie is brought to you by Michel Gondry, the same guy who made Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Human Nature (both movies that I love). It stars Gael Garcia Bernal who has gained a lot of praise for his work in the Motorcycle Diaries and Y Tu Mama Tambien.

I am not exactly sure what the movie is about but IMDB tells us that the plot outline is "A man held captive by the people in his dreams tries to wake himself up and take control of his own imaginings."

Really, any movie that uses oversized hands is one to see in my book. The movie comes out in limited cities this Friday, but in Miami we will only get to see it on September 29.

(Thanks Elad for the movie suggestion)

The Science of Sleep is definitely one of the five or so movies I can't miss for the rest of this year .. even better might be Gondry's next movie, "Be Kind, Rewind" .. It will star Jack Black and is apparently about a video store where all the movies somehow get erased, so the store employees have to re-create the movies for their sole client ... crazy and cool
