Don't Forget - Postsecret THIS WEEKEND!

The 2nd Saturday of each month is starting to be a big deal to me. As many of you have read before, in Miami they have an art walk in the Design District and Wynwood Art District.

This Saturday is even bigger because Postsecret is coming!

For those of you who don't know - Wynwood and the Design District are artsy neighborhoods that are right next to each other. They are separated only by I- 195 / Julia Tuttle Causeway (which goes from I-95 towards Miami Beach, just north of South Beach). Wynwood focuses on art galleries while the Design District focuses on furniture and home/room design with a few galleries scattered in between.

Wynwood starts from around NW 20th Street and goes up to around NW 36th Street all along Miami Avenue and West about 2 to 3 blocks. The majority of galleries are clustered around NW 23rd St and NW 2nd Ave. (Click here for map)

Design District starts around NE 39th St. and goes up to around NE 41st Street going from Miami Avenue East to Federal Highway. (Click here for directions map)

Don't be fooled by the NE/NW distinction - both areas are actually all just one or two blocks west of Biscayne Blvd - but for some reason Wynwood says NW and Design District says NE. Go figure!
