Moving on Up!

Great News! Elad and I are moving! (In a month)

Ok well not like we are moving all that far. Just to South Beach (Miami). Right now we live in Hollywood Beach (which is like an hour North with a lot of Canadians and older folk). Soon we will be living in supposedly one of the coolest spots - but us two nerds are going to stick out like sore thumbs. Oh well, as long as there are young people and 24hour stores that we can walk to then we will be happy :) Oh, and don't worry, Bubba will be joining us, the building is pet friendly.

What is important to you when looking for a place to live?
Big Apartment? Walking Distance Stores? Parking? View? Running Water?

If you could move anywhere, where would you go? Why?

Would you change anything about your current neighborhood?

i think the most important thing in a new place to live is Neighborhood. Having good stores and friends and modes of transporation within walking distance is ultra-important.

As for ideal places to live, that's a tough one. I loved New York City - my favorite city in the world, my hometown, but because it's my hometown, I actually like the idea of living elsewhere to experience different things. That's why I loved living in San Francisco - it was the complete opposite of NYC. Now I've done the suburban thing and am in the middle of the Southern thing. I guess, while still in the borders of our fair country, I'd really experience the NorthWest. Seattle, Portland. That seems like the logical next step for me. :)

But, obviously, I'd love to live in Europe, too. Amesterdam, London!, Prague. One of those fascinating romantic cities with one foot in the 19th century and one in the present. That would be very inspiring.

i'm moving in 3 weeks! i'm just moving across the parking lot of my complex to another building, but i'll be in a studio with my own space and w/o my annoying roommate. yay!

i love nyc and dc's cool for now, but chicago's next on my list of big cities to explore.

Congrats on the move!

Chicago is a great city. I went to visit last year for the first time and definetly saw a lot of character. I just dont know about the windy cold winters that are talked about so much.

I used to think Atlanta was a city I wanted to find myself in. Not entirely sure why. I think it had something to do with cheap housing.

I definetly loved San Fran when I went to visit with Elad - if I had the money I would live there.

yeah san fran would be awesome if i didn't have to worry about choosing between eating and having a roof over my head.

chicago is like a cleaner, better smelling nyc to me so i love it. plus it's SOO much cheaper than the northeast. it's still expensive, but you could buy a nice, new house in a great area for $500k. that means i might be able to own a home in the next 50 years. =)
