Another Project Runway Scandal?
*Warning Possible Spoiler*
Earlier this season Project Runway was rocked with the Keith Michael scandal which eventually got him "immediately dismissed" from the show. Now we have a new scandal on our hands...
Did Jeffrey cheat????
According to New York Magazine it all went down like this...
Jeffrey Sebelia is working at home on his line for Olympus Fashion Week when Tim Gunn makes his appearance at Jeffrey's home to do the thing Tim does best...tell the designer to make it work!
Each season, right before fashion week, Tim Gunn visits each of the final designers to talk about their lines, give criticism, and help put them in the right direction. He also gives the viewers a little glimpse into the real life of the designer, where they live, their family and friends, and what they really look and act like when they are not under the constant lights of reality TV.
But back to the scandal...
Tim apparently told Jeffrey that he still had a lot of work to do, which I think was about 3 weeks before fashion week.
(hmmm...make it work?)
Well, word travels quickly among the mommies....Jeffrey's mom and Laura's mom had become "friends" after the mommy episode, and Jeffrey's mom told Laura's mom what Tim said. Of course Laura's mom got back to Laura and told her that Jeffrey still had a lot of work to do before fashion week (can you imagine the little party that happened after Laura heard that?)
(I heard it through the grapevine)
Anyway...after Olympus Fashion week Laura was surprised to see Jeffrey's line completely finished so she went to the producers and accused Jeffrey of outsourcing his work to get it done in time for Fashion Week (and although Tim says "make it work" outsourcing is a big NO NO on Project Runway)
Tim Gunn has been quoted saying “His collection was very ambitious, I wasn’t born yesterday.” He also confirmed that Bravo has done a full investigation but the results are not allowed to be shared at this time.
So now the backlash....of course via MYSPACE - Blogging Project Runway reports that Jeffrey posted this on the comments section of Erica's (a Project Runway fan) Myspace Page:
Hey!!! Thanks for the concern, but all I have to say is be carefull of what you read and also of what is presented in the press. Those people take any information they get(usually unfounded rumors) and just print them in order to bolster their own readership with no regard to the person they might be slandering. They are just doing their job as bottom feeding, sludge dredging , no-life having journalists. Not all are like that. In fact a credible journalist might fact check and actually consult all parties before wrecklessly printing such an accusation. Beleive me, there have been other possible tabloid stories that could have been printed along they way, but those people thought about their responsibility and decided not to pollute people just for their sensationalism. As a reader, I would encourage you to write new York magazine and ask them to clarify their sources, and challenge them to print the motivation for their actions. Maybe because I'm not a rich, pregnant social climber from New York...everything can be subjective.
Yea, you gotta love Myspace. Jeffrey's Myspace doesn't have any reference to this comment...now to figure out Erica's page out of Jeffrey's 7000+ friends...
So yes there is a big spoiler in there if you didn't catch it...Jeffrey is likely one of the final 3 designers since he got the visit from Tim (meaning he is not a decoy. but is there a decoy this year, we don't know?? does Tim visit everyone? we don't know that either.)
What do you think? Would Jeffrey do something that is so clearly against the rules? I don't want to believe something like this has happened...but maybe it is a big tabloid lie....but that is what many people said after Keith Michael's scandal was all over the internet...hmmmmm. Hopefully we will find out in a few weeks, when Bravo airs the final episode on October 18.

oh jeffrey and michael are my faves! id hope he didnt do anything liek this! and if laura madethe end, ill be mad, i think she stinks in general!
I think Laura's aesthetic comes out clear. Just because she's a bit older than the others doesn't mean that she stinks, she's smart and overall, despite many similarites in her outfits, I think overall, she has a pretty good range. And although in her many black attires, the few that stand out to me are the fitted laced ones and fringy 1920's dress in which she made one similar in the latest episode. She doesn't stink, she just knows what she likes. And what she likes are designs that can be intermixed with a whole bunch of newer trends. In all parts of the season as well. Unlike Uli, who's a very good designer, yet it seems like her outfits are really mainly suitable for summer time. Not that big on range.
Jeffery should win! Laura only deserves for K-mart.
I agree, there's no way Jeffrey has time to post all these positive blogs. He must have outsourced a team to post them for him with the remainder of his fashion budget...Tim told him to make it work and he did!
Jeffrey is great and he put it into high gear when Tim came to see him and told him to make it work. Jeffrey was working in a big space with no real distractions while Laura has five kids and is pregnant and it made her a lot slower she got scared when she saw his collection and got katty and jealous and is at that anything to do I will to win. Lets remember people even though it is against the rules all he is acused of doing is haveing someone help sew, The Design and Idea was all him and she even said it herself.
Rules are rules, are rules. If Jeffery outsorced and it is not in his reciepts, he is in big trouble. Watching the finale, part one, I noticed some things. First, It may have been Laura to bring the outsourcing accusation, but Uli and Michael were both in agreement that his line looked amazing and unlike what they have seen Jeffery do all season. Two, when Tim Gunn asked for the reciepts, Jeffery seemed afraid and confused. Perhaps because he was trying to hide something or because he doesnt have enough receipts? I dont know. And finally, three, in the previews for part 2 of the finale, Tim Gunn talks about the investigation, then says "unfortunately," and then we see Jeffery's face look like he just got some really bad news, and he bursts into sobbing and is being consoled by Uli? It didnt look like he was told that everything is ok. I hope everyone watched the finale part 1 episode. Laura was and is the epitome of professionalism. Immediately after voice her concerns, he let Jeffery know what she had done. I think of all the clothing lines, Laura's is the most cohesive. Tim Gunn himself said that he looks at her collection and it looks like each garment belongs with the others. He didnt say that of any other collection.
What is so wrong with someone being able to sew great? I can totally understand how Jeffrey's work was a little under par during the show, they had hardly anytime to create and make the outfits! When you do things on your own time, it's a lot less stressful. I also believe that Bravo would make it look like Jeffrey was getting eliminated just because it makes for great tv. I think Jeffrey would be beyond stupid to outsource especially after the whole Keith scandal. It's true about Laura having to work with all of her boys in the house, unlike Jeffrey (even though she has the high society help with her kids). Laura knows her work is good, but not good enough. I'd be worried about losing if I were her too.
i dont think jeffrey did it either... if the previews are making it look like he gets eliminated then you KNOW he doesnt! come on guys havent you learned anything from reality tv!!!
How can we make judgement, we have no clue if he cheated or not..It is all talk. They never showed us the full story. And from what we did see he never once had a problem dealing with the deadlines before....
