ANTM

I know there are many fans of America's Next Top Model out there. And although I do not watch the show during its first run (but I have to admit I watch past seasons in rerun on MTV/VH1) I still love to check out Four Four's review each week.

This guy has the best reviews of every single reality cheese-fest out there. So if you haven't jumped on the train already - be sure to check out Four Four's review of the first episode of the new season (Cycle 9) of America's Next Top Model.

Top Chef - Kitchen Wars Part 2

What happened last night that Trey got the boot? I totally thought he was final 3 material.

And what does Brian or CJ have going for them that they are still there? I just don't get it.

New final 3? Howie, Hung and???? Sara??? Something tells me Cassie is going to end up there. I feel like she has been just barely getting by and that is somehow going to push her into the final 3. Not for her dishes - but just because she keeps on barely making it each week. And Dale? I can't figure out if I like him or not. But I think he can somehow make it to the end, also.

Bad TV Shows I Am Drawn To

Yes I am a TV addict. No excuses or hiding from that. And I watch really bad tv. So maybe some of you can share in your sick love for these show...

Rock of Love (VH1) - Bret Michaels, from Poison, is dating Flav-a-flav style. He got a group of girls in a house and has them competing for dates and his eternal love. Or at least the final spot at the end of the season and a make out session. I must talk about Lacey. This girl is nuts. She targets one girl each week and makes it her goal to get that girl eliminated. At first I was thinking she as cool because she wasn't all blond and plastic but now she totally freaks me out (in a very entertaining way). Looks like next week the remaining girls are going to turn on Lacey and expose to Bret who she really is!

The Hills (MTV) - OMG Who isn't watching this show? Srsly? LC v Heidi! Justinbobby and Audrina? Is Spencer a real human because some times he looks like a robot to me? This show is soooo fake yet so appealing. I can't even explain it. And every once in awhile you remember that the kids on this show are literally kids (just out of high school 2-3 years ago) and still live off their Laguna Beach parent's money. Oh and they all have internships where you know they don't make enough money to afford a Benz or their swanky apartments. Oh LA!

Engaged and Underage (MTV) - Each week this show follows an under 21 couple on their way to marital bliss. Recently the show had two lesbian girls that met on Myspace who were getting married. They had to be like 18 or 19. First let me say that I have absolutely nothing against gay marriage. But these two girls were like little teenagers still living at home thinking they need to seal their union that probably started with an exchange of half naked photos. And as of the other couples on this show - I wish they show the couples like three years later instead of one month later to see how they are holding up.

Scott Baio is 45 and Single
(VH1) - You all know who Chachi/Charles in Charge/Bob Loblaw is but now you can know the intimate details of his relationship fears and follies. Scott hired a life coach to help him figure out whether he wants to get married or stay single for the rest of his life. It sounds like Scott knows the answer (constantly whining about how he doesn't want to be 60 and alone) but the way he describes women is something out of a nightmare cartoon. It is obvious he is obsessed with vanity and is self-absorbed but perhaps he might just learn something by confronting all the girls he has screwed over in his past. Fun to watch just to see him feel like crap at least 10 times an episode.

The Twist

According to Crunktastical, Diddy's big "surprise" at the end of this season's Making the Band 4 allows the viewers the ability to vote and "choose" who is going to make the band. Go to the Making the Band website, become a member of MTV.com and vote for your picks.

Although, if you read the rules carefully, the vote may or may not count. It is within the discretion of MTV. Some lawyer got some good billable hours out of drafting those rules.

I was kinda over this season after the episode where Laurie Ann got kicked off along with half of all the contestants. So many people got eliminated so fast. It felt like we didn't even get to see that much of the contestants before they were sent away. Have you noticed that about reality tv now? Almost all the competition shows have been kicking off more than one person each week - so I guess they make the season shorter?

Top Chef Revisited

So last night I did a mini-marathon of Top Chef where I watched the past three episode (including last night's new episode).

My first impression of the show was that Hung was a clear front runner for winner. My opinion has changed a bit since then. I still think he has a lot of skill and great technique, but his cockyness is doing him in. He is totally like Santino from Project Runway. He has so much confidence in his work that he dismisses the critiques from the Judges. Really he should be listening and improving his food because that would really take him to the next level. But sadly, I am going to guess that his pride is going to do him in and he will be eliminated in a few episodes.

So who do I like now? I am kinda loving CJ (the tall guy) but that might be just because he is tall. I was also really starting to like Lia, but she was eliminated. I always like the young NY contestant that probably won't win because she is inexperienced (aka Diana from Season 2 of Project Runway).

I am really enjoying the new Howie and Joey bond. Their clashing was annoying but now that they have joined sides I think they make a good match. Howie really impressed me in the Home Cooking episode.

In last night's episode I thought Sara's dish (Jamaican girl from Miami) looked great and everyone seemed to love it. Why wasn't she called into the winner's circle? I think she has great potential and she just needs to be a little more consistent.

And then there is Tre. Tre started strong in this competition but has been hiding out in the middle lately. I think he is going to end strong and end up in the final with Howie and ???? not sure yet.

Making the Band 4

You all probably remember my love for the last Making the Band - aka Danity Kane. So it is natural that I would get dragged into Making the Band 4 - the all boy group!

Diddy is back and the premise this season is for an all boy band (a la Bel Biv Devo, Boyz to Men, N'Sync). The guys picked for this R&B group will have to know how to sing and dance. So far the show has focused on Julius, Willie, Tyrice, DeAngelo, Dan, Michael and Sam (an Asian guy! I think Korean) - among many others. Sadly, Sam was cut even though he might have been one of the best singers in the bunch. I think they cut him because he didn't fit the "look." Right now the group has been cut to 20 and this is when the competition really begins.

Next week, Diddy shows the boys how serious he is when he (almost?) cuts a guy based on what he ate for breakfast. Seriously, this is why I love Making the Band.

Question - why weren't there any guys from the West Coast picked for the band? I only saw guys from DC, Orlando, NY, Atlanta, Detroit (Houston?) - but nobody from California. I have read that there was an open audition in LA around the same time as the rest of the open auditions around the country. Maybe because the girl group (Danity Kane) is oversaturated with California girls? Perhaps - or maybe Diddy just has something else up his sleeve (remember he can always go back and bring in new guys).

Aubrey Pregnant? With Diddy's Baby!?!?!?!

According to A Socialite's Life, Aubrey O'Day (From Making the Band 3 - Danity Kane) is Pregnant. And if this picture below is for real, she is not looking her normal hot self.

Well, the story doesn't end there. Word from around the Bad Boy water cooler is that Diddy could be the Daddy. According to the tipster:

"Everyone knows she had something going on with [Diddy]. It makes a lot of sense that he would be the father." But the tipster adds, "I really hope Diddy didn't [get her pregnant], because this could turn into a real mess ... imagine if she sued for [sexual] harassment."

I knew there was a reason I loved that show!

I doubt it is Diddy's baby (if she is really pregnant). She has a boyfriend - DJ Cassidy - and Diddy has been a bit preoccupied over the past few months with a new set of twins from another baby momma.

UPDATE:

Still no confirmation if Aubrey O'Day is Pregnant, but I did find other pictures of her from the same night. She doesn't look as bad as she does in the original picture (top of this post).

Link to all the pictures from that night - Aubrey O'Day at B2B After-Party at Marquee

Here she is with her boyfriend, DJ Cassidy:

MORE UPDATES:

Apparently Aubrey wants the world to know its a fake story and went to a store to play an April Fool's Joke on all of us. Check her out with all those pregnancy tests:

Convinced?

Check out the video of her shopping at Media Out Take.com - who didn't get the joke.

(2nd Update from Sandra Rose News)

Last Update (maybe?): The Final Word

Aubrey has released this statement to the press where she knocks down any rumors of her being pregnant:

Aubrey of DANITY KANE released the following statement today regarding rumors of her being pregnant.

" I am not pregnant. Recent rumors linking me to Sean Combs, CEO of my label Bad Boy Entertainment are completely untrue and ridiculous." (SOURCE)

So there you have it - she isn't pregnant. Maybe she just needs a better stylist.

I haven't seen the show yet but I will attempt at catching the repeats this weekend. Anyone get to see it? Thoughts?

Someone Please Tell Me...

Who wants to watch a full day marathon of NEXT on MTV? NOT ME!!! This weekend I was really hoping to see the episode I missed of Making the Band 3 from last week, but instead we have hours and hours and hours (and hours) of Next - the lame ass "dating" show where a contestant gets to date a bunch of losers waiting on a bus. Each dater gets paid a dollar per minute that they last on the date. The show is so lame and I really don't know what MTV was thinking. They need to fire every person who works there and start playing music again and just put a few good shows out there.

Danity Kane's New Album Cover

Danity Kane (the girls from Making The Band 3) are struttin' on their album cover. I feel bad for D Woods (Wanita) because she isn't a big girl but the way they dress her is like she is doing plus size modeling. And the self-tanner girls are almost as orange as the background!

Making The Band 3 Recap - Homecoming

The first episode of the season started with the ending of last season. Diddy picks the girls who will make the band. In between each girl being named, the show cuts to an interview where they talk about their reaction. Most wanted to hug Diddy and were happy just to be chosen.

The show then takes us to the hometowns of each girl. We find out a little extra background info: Aubrey lives in Palm Springs, California and has a boyfriend!! Andrea lives at home with her parents in Upland, California. Shannon is married (!!!) and lives in Costa Mesa, California. (That's alot of California girls) Dawn has relocated to Baltimore after Hurricane Kartrina and her family is threw her a Mardi Gras party when she got home. Wanita (aka D. Woods) lives in Atlanta with her family where she has been recording and dancing.

Now I want to know how quickly Aubrey's boyfriend and Shannon's husband get that feeling they aren't wanted anymore....

The girls all came together again in Orlando and were told that they are going straight to New Orleans to be on a Mardi Gras parade boat. All the girls were excited, although Dawn was apprehensive since she hasn't seen her hometown since the Hurricane.

The girls arrive, drank it up (maybe a little too much, Aubrey) and toured Dawn's hometown. The show got very serious when they went to see Dawn's mom's dance studio and home. But it showed a bond was already building and the girls were all there to keep Dawn strong.

Then they went off to the parade and threw some beeds, yelled at boys to show some goods, and dressed in old time black and white prison uniforms (I don't know why the prison uniforms??).

The episode was cute and all but I want to get to the good stuff -DRAMA - dancing, singing, and more Diddy! Too bad there won't be any cuts anymore - because eliminations are the best part of each episode - but I am sure the girls will manage to bring their own drama...

Oh, and more on Danity Kane (the name of the group)

From Stars are Blind

[Diddy] has named the girl power group DANITY KANE, based on a fictional anime character drawn up by singer DAWN.

She tells MTV News, "“We were in the studio and I actually draw anime, and Diddy had been throwing some names at us - Courage,Trust - but we want our name to mean something.

“Diddy looked at the superhero that was the anime that I drew and he was like, "‘What'’s the name of that character?"’ "I was like, "‘Danity Kane,"’ and he was, like, "‘Yo, that'’s dope, you guys can be five superheroes; five girls representing courage, representing all those things in one"”."

And the girls have a Myspace Page which says their first single should debut TODAY. And of course there is an unofficial Myspace Page, too.

Plus they already have a Fan Site (which already doesn't work) and a Wikipedia Page.

Also, a person who commented on my last Danity Kane post has this website dedicated to Making the Band 3.

Danity Kane?

P. Diddy's all girl "international" super group has been named!!!

DANITY KANE

(WHAT?!?!?!?!)

I give that a big DOWNGRADE!

Hey, don't forget...Making the Band 3 is back, tonight at 9pm.

MORE ON DANITY KANE AND FIRST EPISODE OF THIS SEASON.

A Great Week In TV

OK so last week I posted about my dilemma - if I should watch the new Project Runway or the Made episode taped in my high school.

Luckily you were all correct in stating that there are repeats on both channels - so I didn't miss a thing. And thank goodness for that - because all of it was great!

First - Project Runway - a whole slew of new designers and just in the first episode we had 3 cuts!!! As the show was on I remembered how much I loved watching the designs on the runway and then seeing the designers get critiqued and trying to guess who is gonna get the boot. So far I see a lot of talent but I think that its gonna come down to Santino and Diana. But it is still so early in the game that anything can happen.

MADE - Central Idol - the show was interesting because it was about a girl who was super super shy but had a really great singing voice when nobody was watching. So she wanted to be in her high school's version of American Idol - which did not exist at the time I attended Valley Stream Central. She did finally break out of her shyness - but didn't win the contest. The interesting part for me was seeing different shots of the school and seeing how there are new lockers and the school kinda looked different. But from the outside it was the same and whenever they interviewed different students that thick Long Island accent was in full force.

The biggest part of my TV watching this week was actually the finale of Making the Band 3. I LOVE THIS SHOW! I have talked about this in the past - how P. Diddy would just cut people at any moment and how he really challenges them. So in this last episode, Diddy comes out in the first minute of the episode and sends all the girls home for 3 months. He says that when they come back he is going to pick who is in the band - I guess this is to test who really is dedicated and who isn't. So the girls come back and they get to do a little photo shoot and meet Naomi Campbell - then they get some dancing time - then some singing time - then some interviews where they get cut down by Hot 97 radio station - and after a few more performances in front of Diddy - he makes the band. And the best part is that Andrea made it! We were all cheering after the episode finished because we were all rooting for her. She has been through many ups and downs on the show and I think she is going to do great in the band. But Diddy left two questions up in the air - What is the name of the band? And are they going to have another reality show based on the band? I hope so!

And finally, to make my tv watching complete - VH1 played one of my favorite classic 90's movies - CLUELESS!! It has been a few years since I have seen this movie and I still remembered most of the lines - thanks VH1 for bringing back some good old memories.

A TV Show I am Not Allowed to Watch

I don't know how many of you watch MTV anymore, but I am sure a few of you do and have seen the show Laguna Beach. Now, I have to admit I saw the entire first season. It was a full Saturday marathon that got me hooked (damn marathons!).

Well now I am faced with the second season and the Laguna kids are everywhere .... even the VMAs!!! And I promised myself that I would not watch that show because the kids sicken me and their life is just too good to sit back and watch them complain about. So I have kept my promise so far -- but that doesn't stop me from gossiping about the show with Reesea at work!! (I never promised I wouldn't hear about it second hand)

Now...let me tell you a show I WILL be watching and counting the days until it returns....
MAKING THE BAND!!!!

The last season was Diddy's attempt to make a girl singing group - and the reason I LOVED it is because you can get cut at any moment. Oh girl your ass ain't shaking fast enough - goodbye - you weren't pitch perfect when we surprised you and put you on stage in a downtown club - your cut - oh what, you didn't put mustard on this sandwich - see ya later! Now that is great tv. The girls have no clue what is coming at them and they are just struggling - and before you know it they send the entire cast home and do a new set of auditions. Insanity! A MUST SEE!
